KALEIDOSCOPIC MEDITATIONS

Katrina Hill’s collection of paintings reflect an intensely personal journey of emotion and introspection. Beginning with an exploration of abstraction, Hill uses colour and bold, dynamic shapes as expressive tools, incorporating mandala-like structures and geometric forms to create a meditative process rooted in the present moment. The first piece, Release, was inspired by her mother’s radiant spirit and attempts to capture the essence of her transition from life to death, embodying both the sorrow of loss and the beauty of release.

The series evolved to explore her own grief and the universal experience of mourning. Painting became a meditative act influenced by neuroscience, philosophy, and psychology, infusing each piece with stories of trauma and resilience. Symbols like the eye, circle, flower, and grid are expressed using color combinations that resonate to create a kaleidoscopic snapshot of a dynamic emotional experience.

Currently exhibiting in a Group Exhibition in conjunction with China Heights Gallery, Sydney and Louis Vuitton Flag Ship location. A group show of new works along-side Artists, Jarryd Lynagh and Dean De Landre.
